What it is like in Bangladesh?
Each year floods occur all over Bangladesh, usually the floods are made by the Ganges because it over flows. This creates a large problem for the people of the country Bangladesh, the problems are mainly that the people can't get any clean water; food and many have to live on the roofs of their houses. One thousand people die each year in the floods and in 1988 twenty-five million were left homeless and without food. In Bangladesh their main crop is rice, they eat rice and they import rice to other countries. But when there are floods their crop is completely ruined, which then means that nearly all the population will starve. Sometimes the floods are so bad that they unable to bring in help from other countries when they are flying on plans - it is sometimes even hard to fly a helicopter to rescue people who are stuck up a tree or in their house.
| Because the country is flat, it is more easily flooded. There are many ways that a person is affected by the floods, some of the ways are loss of life, loss of houses, loss of jobs loss of the foods and finally loss of pride. | |
